Incidents 294 Reports 38

The Traffic Unit and Zone 2 (5 Officers) conducted High Visibility Enforcement in the area of Fremont Blvd and Decoto Rd. from approximately 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.   A total of 16 traffic enforcement stops were made, which resulted in several traffic citations and warnings being issued.

#006 Unlicensed Driver Arrest

During High Visibility Enforcement, Sgt. Fowlie arrested/cited an adult male for being an unlicensed driver.

#017 Residential Burglary

At approximately 12:25 p.m. officers responded to a residential burglary on the 2300 block of Night Shade Lane.  The burglary had occurred sometime earlier in the morning.  The resident returned home and discovered that the house had been ransacked.  There were no apparent signs of forced entry.  The loss was jewelry.

#025 Outside Assist (CHP) for Stolen Vehicle, Hit and Run Incident

At 4:42 p.m. Fremont PD received a request to assist a CHP motor unit who had stopped a stolen BMW Z3 Convertible on I880.  Dispatch updated the call to an assault on an officer after the suspect ran over the CHP Officer’s motorcycle (the officer was not injured).  The suspect reversed his vehicle and exited the Decoto Rd. off-ramp and fled eastbound Decoto Rd through Fremont and into Union City.   While fleeing, the suspect caused two additional collisions one of which occurred on Decoto Rd at Fremont Blvd. (in Fremont).   Officer Collins investigated the hit and run (property damage only) collision that occurred in Fremont and Decoto.  Union City and Fremont Units located the stolen vehicle abandoned in Union City.  Union City officers located and apprehended the suspect.  Please refer to CHP or Union City PD for further details regarding this incident.

#034 Strong Armed Robbery Chain Snatch

At approximately 7:50 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery that had occurred near the intersection of Crandallwood Dr. and Gove Tr.  A witness reported that a woman’s chain had been stolen off her neck.  When officers arrived the female victim stated that she had been walking westbound on the north side of Crandallwood Dr. near the driveway at Gove Tr. and she had passed a male adult on the east side of the driveway.  As she continued to walk, the same male ran up behind her and snatched a gold chain necklace from her neck.  The suspect then ran and got into a black car that was last seen leaving Gove Tr. and headed toward Paseo Padre Pkwy.  The suspects were described as:

Suspect Vehicle: Older model Toyota Celica, faded black in color, with a large spoiler, and tinted windows.

Suspect Descriptions:

Suspect # 1 (Driver): black female adult, large build with short dark hair.

Suspect #2 (Front passenger and robbery suspect): black male adult, young, thin build, last seen wearing a black baggy hooded sweatshirt and black baggy pants.

There were possibly two rear passengers in the vehicle.

#004 Commercial Burglary (in-custody)

At approximately 12:55 a.m., officers responded to an alarm call at SBC Liquors near 5-corners in Irvington and found a front window smash.  Moments later they saw a suspect retreat into the back of the store.  A perimeter was set and Fremont Fire responded with a ladder for roof-top coverage.  The shopkeeper responded with a key which allowed for safe entry into the business.  K-9 Jarrdo located the suspect, a 23 year old adult male (Fremont resident), hiding in the attic space above the coolers.  The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Rita for burglary.  Located in his vehicle were multiple items taken from the store as well as more than 40 lottery tickets.  Investigated by Officer Chahouati and supervised by Sgt. McCormick.

#005 DUI Arrest

At approximately 3:30 a.m., a citizen called to report a male subject passed out behind the wheel with the car still running near Mowry/Farwell in front of the Chevron gas station.  Officers arrived and found that a 47 year old adult male (Fremont resident) was under the influence.  The adult male was less than cooperative after being arrested.  Officer N. Johnson investigated and secured a McNeely warrant for a blood draw.  The suspect was booked into Santa Rita for DUI.

Parking/Community:

In response to complaints from residents in the Stanford Ln, Vineyard Ave. and Lower Vintners area, regarding illegal parking and non-permitted vendors at Mission Peak, Community Service Officers Goralczyk and Anders patrolled the area throughout the day.  A total of twenty-nine (29) citations were issued for various municipal and vehicle code violations.

#011 Residential Burglary

Officers responded to the 42700 block of Everglades Park Dr. to investigate a residential burglary that had occurred sometime during the night.  The unknown suspect(s) cut a screen to a window that had been left partially open.  There was no loss reported at the time officers were out to take the report.

#020 Possession of Dangerous Drugs

At approximately 3:40 p.m., Officer Gentry conducted a pedestrian stop on a 51 year old adult male, Oakland resident, and arrested him for possession of dangerous drugs

#017 Robbery Arrest

At 2:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to Safeway at the HUB after two juvenile females were detained by loss prevention for stealing a large amount of merchandise. During the detention, one of the juvenile suspects tazed one of the loss prevention employees.   The product was recovered and both juveniles were arrested for robbery.  One of the juveniles was also arrested for providing a false name to police officers.  Investigated by Officer Lobue

#030 Attempt Invasion of Privacy with a Camera

At approximately 4:50 p.m., Officer Stillitano responded to Party City at Pacific Commons in regards to a complaint by a customer that a male employee was attempting to take indecent pictures of her with his cell phone. During the investigation, the male admits to attempting to take an indecent picture of the victim today and admitted to other incidents in the past.  The 21 year old adult male is placed under citizen’s arrest for attempt invasion of privacy with a camera.

#017 Ascertain the Problem Call

Officers are detailed to the area of Nelson and Pardee to investigate a group of teenagers walking down the street, one of whom has a concealed handgun in his waistband. The caller was watching their actions and was adamant that the firearm did not have on orange safety tip.  Officers arrive quickly in the area just as the subject with the firearm makes a furtive movement and tosses the gun into nearby bushes.  Officers detain all subjects without incident.  A realistic looking BB gun was found in the bushes nearby without any distinguishing markings.  All juveniles were admonished and released. Investigated by Officer Hollifield.

#041 Drug Paraphernalia

Officer Chahouati stopped a 22 year old adult male near Safeway 5-corners and cited him for being in possession of a meth pipe.

#043 Drug Paraphernalia

Officer Hernandez contacted a 53 year old adult male near Peralta/Fremont and cited him for being in possession of a meth pipe.

#005 Resisting Arrest/Warrant Service

Officers Romley and Chahouati attempted to detain a subject riding his bike near Mission and Mayhews.  The subject fled after being ordered to stop.  Officers were able to catch up to the subject in a nearby yard after a foot pursuit.  A 35 year old probationer was arrested for resisting arrest as well for his outstanding warrant.

7/12/14 12:40 p.m.

While on patrol, an officer saw a subject whom he recognized as having an outstanding warrant. A wants check revealed that the subject had a $20k misdemeanor warrant issued from the Newark Police Department charging petty theft and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The subject was arrested and booked for his warrant. BART PD CASE #1407-1965

Parking/Community:

Continued complaints were generated from residents in the Stanford Ln, Vineyard Av., and Lower Vintners area regarding illegal parking and non-permitted vendors at Mission Peak.  Community Service Officers Goralczyk and Anders continued their enforcement efforts, which resulted in the issuance of thirty-four (34) citations for various FMC and vehicle code violations.

#016/#017 Unlicensed Driver/Warrant Arrest

Officer Ceniceros conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Paseo Padre Parkway/Cornish Dr. and arrested/cited the driver, an adult male, for being an unlicensed driver and arrested/cited the passenger, an adult female, for her outstanding Santa Clara County traffic warrant.

#032 Trespassing Arrest

While conducting a security check at the Main Library, Traffic Officer Snow contacts a 50 year old adult male transient, who he knows has a trespass order to stay away from the Library.  The adult male refused to identify himself or leave the property.  He was promptly arrested for trespassing.

#033 Warrant Arrest

Officer Collins arrested a 52 year old adult male for his misdemeanor warrant during a security check at Motel 6 north.

#028 Warrant Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance Arrest

At approximately 5:05 p.m., officers were detailed to a fight in the area of the Centerville Train Depot.  Officer Morrison arrives and detains the suspect, a 33 year old adult male transient.  No prosecution is desired for the fight, but the adult male has a felony warrant out of San Joaquin County, as well as some methamphetamine on him. He goes to jail.

#039 Possession of Narcotics for Sale

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Officer Chahouati stopped a 48 year old adult female, who was on probation, riding her bike near Roberts/Washington.  A search of her person revealed she had several dozen prescription morphine tabs in her possession.  She was arrested and booked into Santa Rita.
